Finished T2F Outfits

Trash To Fash

This term we have been learning to recycle and reuse materials (trash) to make a piece of wearable art (fashion). We have been making 2 outfits for the Arts Festival - a nightie and a fantail. Once finished we will choose one to go on the runway and be part of the fashion show. Photos of the finished outfit will be up as soon as they are finished.

Calendar Art

Last term we worked hard to create a Kiwiana themed print art. We created our own prints by drawing either a kiwi, a hokey pokey ice-cream cone, or a rugby ball. We drew our drawings onto cardboard and cut them out. Then we drew some korus and added them to our prints. We waited a long time for it to dry, and finally we were able to print them onto paper. First we used white paint onto black paper. Then we each picked a colour we liked and printed out our design onto white paper. Finally we used black paint to print our design onto coloured paper. Here are the ones we picked for calendar art. Please come and see them on our classroom window. They are fantastic!

Kiwiana

This term we have been learning about all things New Zealand. Room 4 have been tasting all sorts of Kiwi food such as marmite and vogels bread, jaffas, L&P, and lots of other typical kiwi food. Here we had some hokey pokey ice-cream. It was delicious!

Rugby World Cup 2011

Room 4 are very excited about the Rugby World Cup. We showed our support of the All Blacks on Friday when they played against Tonga. GO ALL BLACKS!!!

Lovely Mrs Owens

We are very lucky to have another teacher in our classroom! She has been teaching us wonderful things for 5 weeks! We will be very sad to see her go but....maybe Mrs Owens will come to visit us again soon!

Brain Dissection

Last term we learnt a lot about the brain. We even dissected a sheep's brain! The brain was a little smelly and felt squishy but very interesting! We were very proud of ourselves because we could point out the different parts of the brain.

Making Our Movie

This term Room 4 is working hard to make our movie. We have been learning about movies and how a movie is created. Here we are working together to make our storyboard so we know what will happen in our movie. Please come to our movie night later in the term to see our fantastic movie.

Green Day Term 1 2011

This year we had our first Green Day. Room 4 worked on their classroom garden. We cleaned out all the weeds and picked some tomatoes. Then we planted some potatoes! We are working hard to keep our garden tidy. If mum or dad can help us in our garden please let Miss Lee know. Let us know what you think of our garden!
